So many women hesitate to wear white in the winter.  It's been ingrained that "white after labour day" is not appropriate.  That's an old-school fashion rule, that has been thrown out the window, so rest assured that you will look very hip and with it when you wear white at this time of year.  If you still feel hesitant, pair white with dark colours, in winter fabrics - like long-sleeve knits.

When done well, mixing two prints in one outfit creates a extremely well put together look.  An easy way to do this (as pictured above) is to choose two prints that incorporate the same colours, and are total opposites in pattern - i.e. one pattern with straight lines, like stripes, and another pattern with curvy lines, like this leopard print scarf.

I was chatting with my very stylish cousin on the weekend about how much we both absolutely love black and gold combined in an outfit.  It has such a pulled together fashion-forward feel to it, and so simple to execute with the clothes you already own.  You can use accessories that incorporate both black and gold (like pictured) or you can pair all gold accessories with black clothes.

For the Adventurous Soul: 

If you really love this trend, and your playful personality allows you to pull this look off, you can wear a fairly literal translation of the runway look.  Use colours within the same colour palette, and show some skin to balance out the bold nature of this look.

Made Easy:

If you want an easier version of the colour blocking look, wear neutral clothing, and colourful accessories.  The accessories still need to be within the same colour palette, but you'll be making a more subdued, and therefore easier to wear, colour statement.
